Tybee Island, Georgia is bordered on the East by the Atlantic Ocean, on the West by the Lazaretto Creek and Intra-coastal marshes. On the North it is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean the Savannah River shipping channel, on the South lies the Back River with what is known as "Little Tybee Island" just across the channel.There are several options to choose from for entering the waters around Tybee. The first would be the just before you cross the Lazaretto Creek Bridge to enter Tybee just to the right on U.S. Highway 80 at the Lazaretto Creek Boat Ramp which allows trailerized vessels to enter the water. You can also enter the water publicly at the Tybee Boat Ramp, taking a right on Jones Avenue at the 2nd street light on Tybee, then a right at the dead-end stop sign and then a left a couple of streets down into the boat ramp parking lot. For commercial services you can use the boat lift at the Tybee Marina located a few hundred feet farther down the road from the previous boat ramp.
