Tybee Island, GA is located approximately 18 miles from Savannah, GA just off the coast of Georgia. It is bordered on the east by the Atlantic Ocean, on the South by the Back River and Little Tybee Island, on the west by inland marshes and waterways, and on the north by the Savannah River and approximately 3 miles away is Hilton Head, SC. Tybee is accessible by car via the only way on, or off the island by way of U.S. Highway 80 East/West(if you're leaving the island). Tybee is accessible by helicopter, though there is no airport on the island, but there are 2 landing areas on the island for emergency helicopters.
